Apple Watch: No launching For V.2.0

Rumours of a follow up Apple Watch pitted the unveiling as this coming March, but that has now been pushed back until at least September, according to a report in TechCrunch. A few months ago, we heard rumours that Apple might stick to the 18-month release cycle for the launch of the Apple Watch 2 – September 2016 -.

TechCrunch says there is a small possibility Apple could discuss design partnerships and accessories related to the current Apple Watch in March, but not a “Watch 2.0. with a bunch of new hardware features like a camera”.

Panzarino said that when he spoke to Ben Bajarin, an analyst for Creative Strategies, Bajarin said that inquiries into supply chains reveal no movement, which would indicate any upcoming production of a new model of the Apple Watch.

It was previously believed that the Apple Watch 2 would be released in April 2016, but now, it seems that it won’t be the case.

Apple Watch 2, which was earlier set to launch by March, may be delayed further.

In spite of the Apple Watch scooping up a large share of the smartwatch market, many questions are being raised about whether or not people will want the second edition of the watch if they already have last year’s version. This contradicts with an earlier report from Taiwanese Commercial Times that suggested that Watch 2 trial production will begin by the end of January and will be manufactured by the same company responsible for the original Watch. A statement was made by an Apple supplier in Taiwan claiming that we are just seven months from the release of this new model.

A moderately updated Apple Watch is unlikely to cause as much of a stir. Of course, the Apple Watch is old enough that you can get a used model for pretty cheap now, but if you haven’t gotten one yet, it’s likely that you have the patience to wait a little longer. This rumored version, however, would not be a full Watch 2.0 with design changes and major enhancements, the news outlet noted.
