HTC bringing Marshmallow to One M8, One M9 in USA and Canada
Next in line are HTC One M8 owners in the United Kingdom. Now it’s the time for Verizon and AT&T to quickly decide about the software update distribution to LG G4s of the respective carriers. The Sprint HTC One M8 update release is targeted for the middle of next week while the T-Mobile HTC One M9 should be updated on January 25. Now we have official word from HTC regarding the Marshmallow update status in the UK. Android 6.0 Marshmallow is coming this week, with the T-Mobile variant set to follow later this month.

The update is around 1.14GB in size and you can check to see if it is available for your handset by going to Settings About Software Updates.
After doing a bit of digging it looks like carriers like AT&T and Verizon have delayed the HTC One M9 Android 6.0 update by at least a “few more weeks” according to Mo Versi.
One of the biggest annoyances I have had with Android 6.0 Marshmallow is the massive lag that plagued the Share intent. The majority of third-party OEMs are still on Lollipop though it’s likely that many will be updated to Marshmallow in the near future.
As with any update, it is always advised that backing up data and files should first be done before making any attempt on an update, as sometimes an update doesn’t go well and there might be a need to roll back to a previous state. Are you guys looking forward towards the Marshmallow update?

HTC One A9 was the first device from the smartphone maker to receive the Marshmallow update along with other Nexus devices at the start of the last quarter of 2015. Samsung for instance has so far not yet rolled out Android Marshmallow to any of its units, though there have been reports that it is working on an update for its flagship phones. The new update comes with Doze Mode for improved battery life while in standby, granular app permissions for improved security and privacy, Google Now On Tap functionality for contextual information about what’s on your screen at the moment, notifications panel and quick settings improvements, a RAM Manager that shows RAM usage statistics, Storage Manager with built-in file manager, the ability to turn off heads-up notifications, enhanced Phone and Contacts apps, and many more.
