Dr Omer Gur announced on Friday that a 52-year old woman had been diagnosed with the virus, also known as swine flu, and was being treated at the Near East University hospital. Of them, two have been tested positive.

Four suspected swine flu patients have died in Rawalpindi since 6 January. The Chief Minister directed to adopt all precautionary measure and run public awareness campaign regularly.
Dr Ejaz made it clear that swine flu of H1N1 strain was not lethal as its mortality rate was 0.5 per cent and it should be taken as seriously as influenza. A control room and monitoring cell has also been established to monitor the situation.
He said that daily reports should be submitted regarding availability of medical facilities in different hospitals. He said necessary arrangements to stop the spread of the disease have been completed. The waiting area for visitors at hospitals have been changed into Swine Flu ward due to the over flow of patients.
“We now have two patients in Wishaw General Hospital with H1N1”. Now there is a declining tendency with drop in the number of hospitalization.
Of these, five had been confirmed to be carrying the H1N1 virus.
