Shooting and bomb threats at nine schools in New Jersey
Bomb threats were phoned in to at least nine schools in New Jersey on Tuesday, forcing evacuations or lockdowns, a spokesman for the Bergen County Sheriff said.

Four schools in DE received bomb threats last Monday, according to a news release posted on the state police Facebook page.
In Fair Lawn, students were safely moved to Memorial Middle School, Metzler said, which is where they’ll remain until the high school has been deemed safe to re-enter.
“At this time, there is no indication of any validity to the threat”.
A bomb threat was called into Fair Lawn High School at about 9 a.m., Fair Lawn police Sgt. Brian Metzler said. “We’re taking every possible step just to make sure”. Authorities are also investigating at Tewksbury High School. Students returned to Bergenfield High School in late morning after it was declared to be safe.
Schools in several communities in the Northeast are being evacuated or locked down Tuesday amid threats of violence.
The message was apparently recorded overnight and “indicated a non-specific threat to the school district involving the placement of a bomb in one of the schools, as well as a secondary threat of a ‘mass shooting, ‘” police wrote.
