Wall, Durant named players of the week

When the Miami Heat faced the Oklahoma City Thunder earlier this season, it was an exciting back-and-forth contest that saw 38 lead changes with the Heat ultimately proving victorious.

After finishing with 13 points, 15 assists and 10 boards Sunday for his second straight triple-double, Westbrook has a chance to join Golden State’s Draymond Green as the only players to record three in a row this season.

Chris Andersen (sore left knee), Josh McRoberts (bruised right knee), Jarnell Stokes (illness), Goran Dragic (strained left calf) and Beno Udrih (neck) all sat out for Miami.

“I haven’t gotten any MRIs or nothing”, said Wade, who hoped three days off for treatment will get him ready for the Thunder.

“Center Hassan Whiteside, who was coming off a triple-double against the Nuggets, didn”™t get going until the game was already decided.

LaMarcus Aldridge scored 23 points and San Antonio beat Dallas to remain undefeated at home. Oklahoma City did miss 12 from 3-point range, but its 16 attempts were more than five below its season average and it owned a 44-35 rebounding advantage while scoring 50 points inside.

Thunder assistant coach Monty Williams will be an assistant coach to head coach Mike Krzyzewski and the head athletic trainer for the Thunder will lead the athletic training for the Olympic team.

Durant led the Thunder to a 4-0 week with averages of 26 points (third in the Western Conference), 8.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists.

Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant had 25 points apiece for Oklahoma City but combined for 12 turnovers. He showed no signs of aging during the first half, scoring 18 points on 7 of 11 shooting.

During their four-game win streak, the Thunder have allowed 88 points per game on 41-percent shooting overall and 29-percent shooting from 3-point range.

Ibaka had a strong second half and finished with 19 points and seven rebounds, while Dion Waiters had another solid game with 18 points off the bench.

Hopefully the next step is Payne choreographing an entire dance routine for the whole Thunder squad, and they just take to halfcourt to perform it before the game begins.

“Once that third quarter came we just relaxed and played our game”, Durant said. He finished with 16 points….
