The accident is under investigation and prosecutors have been notified, which Miceli said is a routine measure.
The California Highway Patrol said two died and and at least a dozen more were injured after a Greyhound Bus crashed in San Jose, CA, early Tuesday morning.
According to CBS San Francisco, the crash was reported at 6:38 a.m. near the connector ramp between northbound Highway 101 and northbound Highway 85 during a steady rain, California Highway Patrol officials said. A child was also taken to the hospital as a precaution, Miceli said.
CHP hasn’t released the identity of the victims.
Five people who suffered serious injuries that required immediate care were taken to a trauma center at a nearby hospital. Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
Four passengers and the driver of the bus were sent to the hospital and 13 others were treated for minor injuries at the site of the crash, in addition to two fatalities, the AP said.
The accident snarled a morning commute already slowed by rain.

The bus driver will be asked to submit a blood sample to determine if drugs or alcohol were involved, which is standard procedure in such incidents, Miceli said.
