Twitter outages show other options needed to share information, expert says
Twitter is beginning to come back online for users after a technical problem caused an outage that lasted more than two hours.

Twitter said on Tuesday its social network was suffering outages in some parts of the world and it was working to resolve the issues, which appear to be concentrated in Europe, according to external monitoring sources.
Users in affected countries were met with the message: “Something is technically wrong”. Users are also skeptical of its plan to extend the character limit in tweets to as many as 10,000.
The string of service problems though poses a unique challenge for Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, who has long struggled to convert the site’s user base into profit for its investors, even announcing a major staff reduction at the end of past year. Twitter service started to be restored about an hour later, but lingering problems continued throughout the morning.
Twitter also went down Monday morning.
What’s a social media savvy marketer to do with Twitter down?
Rick Devens, a USA radio host, posted on Facebook: “We may never get back some of the clever thoughts I had during this tragic outage”.
Twitter’s share price sunk to a new low with the weight of a “fail whale” outage that left millions of users unable to use the site throughout the day.
A spokesperson for twitter officially accepted that the site was down and they were looking forward to solve the issues as soon as possible.

But thousands of users are still reporting problems accessing the website.
