BlackBerry Priv Makes its way to T-Mobile US on January 26th

With AT&T losing its exclusivity on the BlackBerry Priv this week, T-Mobile will add the first Android powered BlackBerry to its equipment lineup on January 26th. However, it was made available for sale in the USA and Canada in November 2015. It runs with Google’s Android, true, but BlackBerry’s take on Android really makes it their own, much like a Samsung Galaxy smartphone makes Android their own with Samsung apps and services.

The BlackBerry Priv was priced at $699 in the USA, which today translates to roughly Rs. 47,300.

Recalling the specs of the Priv smartphone, it comes with a slim design and features a slide out physical keyboard just like that of the earlier BlackBerry Torch. The device has 3GB low powered RAM and internal storage of up to 32 GB, but is expandable via the microSD card slot of up to 2 TB. The BlackBerry Priv is backed by a massive 3410mAh battery that is said to deliver up to 22.5 hours based on “mixed usage”.

“The BlackBerry Priv has a 5.4” QHD with a resolution of 1440×2560 pixels AMOLED display and a pixel density of 540ppi. It boasts an 18MP dual-flash rear camera bundled with optical image stabilisation, PDAF, dual-LED flash, and 4K video recording. The smart phone also assures connectivity through 4G, WiFi Direct, single SIM, WiFi (a/b/g/n), Bluetooth 4.1 A2DP LE, WiFi Hotspot, a micro USB 2.0 port and Global Positioning System with AGPS. It also bears support for a glove mode.
