Brady gets the edge over Peyton in AFC title game

With the Super Bowl being played in Santa Clara, near where Tom Brady grew up, this Super Bowl could be extra special for him.

The Broncos-Steelers game had a 28.0 rating (percentage of TV sets tuned to the game) and a 40 share (percentage of TV sets turned on tuned to the game) in Jacksonville. A Broncos win would not only help Manning rewrite his legacy as a playoff chump, but it’d give him a chance to redeem himself after that embarrassing blowout in Super Bowl XLVIII. When you couple those two together, that certainly would fuel the Patriots QB to right the ship and put an end to the Brady and Manning debate FOREVER if it hasn’t been done so already.

These two guys will have to have monster games against the New England offensive line next Sunday.

If that weren’t tough enough, you can bet that Deflategate will be dredged up chapter and verse by the media horde that descends like locusts on the San Francisco Bay Area for the Big Game, especially since the National Football League and Tom Brady are gearing up for a March 3 appeal hearing on the matter.

Newton said the key will be to not make mistakes and, if the team gets a lead, to not let off the gas.

The New England Patriots will travel back to Denver to take on the Broncos for the second time in three seasons. The Broncos only allowed one touchdown and held the Steelers to three field goals through three quarters.

“We’re going to crush the Broncos!” exclaimed fan Harrison Prohaska of Millbury, Mass.

The Broncos have confidence, and a top-ranked defense. Aside from both of these quarterbacks being from the SEC and being No. 1 picks coming out of college, there aren’t many things they have in common. More than four players for the Broncos had drops this past Sunday which forced the offense to settle for field goals on five of their possessions.

-PASSING OFFENSE: C. Passing was better than catching. Gronk had seven grabs for 83 yards and the two touchdowns.

Anderson was a big reason why Denver will get to play the Patriots again, as he rushed for 72 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries against Pittsburgh on Sunday.

Just as worrisome and in need of immediate fix is Carson Palmer’s poor decision making, something that took many by surprise considering the great season he is having.

Inevitably the Pittsburgh Steelers coach would catch a glimpse of one of his team’s injured stars in the trainer’s room, where center Maurkice Pouncey and running back Le’Veon Bell were fixtures as they rehabbed from season-ending injuries. The biggest play on the drive was his 31-yard completion to Bennie Fowler on third-and-12. The Steelers’ leading receiver was Martavis Bryant with 154 receiving yards. He said he was basically playing the game with one arm, but he still expects to play next week.

Peyton now has a record of 12-13 in the playoffs. “I told [WR] Emmanuel [Sanders] just to kind of be alert in case I fall down, get back up to be uncovered”. That takes nothing away from their season, which was incredible and rolled on with a win over the defending NFC champion Seahawks last week.
