People braved the cold temperatures to march in remembrance of Martin Luther King Jr.in downtown Raleigh on Monday morning. They’re now in the planning process to organize events.

In Minneapolis, activists for the Black Lives Matter movement planned a march over a Mississippi River bridge connecting Minneapolis and St. Paul during a Martin Luther King Day rally.
In honor of Martin Luther King Day, people in Grand Forks are gathering to celebrate his work.
Community leaders around Chicago are working on a living memorial to commemorate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s historic 1966 march in Marquette Park.

“I think following Zaevion’s death and the violence we’ve seen of innocent lives taken”. “But we really admire Dr. King for his commitment to civil rights and helping others”.
Elsewhere, an overflow crowd showed up at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta to celebrate King’s legacy at an annual commemorative service. One speaker thanked the members of Concerned Student 1950, as some of the members of the group were at the event.
Szakos said sometimes he would even read her bedtime stories when he stayed at their house, so she got to see both King the legend and the man.

At the Riverside Church in NY, actors Chris Rock and Michael B. Jordan joined others to perform historic speeches delivered by King and discuss how to continue his legacy.
“We feel it’s good to move to a new location”, he said.
Last year, nine people were shot and killed at a Charleston, S.C. church, with the gunman saying he committed the shooting in the hopes of igniting a race war.

The community remembered King’s dream with the distribution of a food truck to needy families.
