The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory across Northern Virginia beginning at noon Monday afternoon and lasting until 8 p.m. Monday evening. High pressure is controlling our weather pattern and this big bubble of high pressure is expected to keep the temperatures hot and the forecast dry.
High temperatures combined with high humidity will create a heat index of around 100 degrees this afternoon.
This is also a time for people to check on their relatives and neighbors to make sure they have a way to get relief from the heat.
“No! I never complain about how hot it is”. “It’s gonna be a great weekend no matter what the humidity is”, Williams told WWJ’s Charlie Langton.
The advisory covers Wayne, Macomb, Oakland, Shiawassee, Genesee, Livingston, Washtenaw, Lenawee and Monroe counties.
Storms will form Saturday night in northern Missouri, north of HWY 24 as a cold front which is moving in from the north interacts with increasing low level winds from the southwest.
Corvallis: Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 91. North wind 6 to 9 miles per hour.
Saturday: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, patchy fog before 10 a.m., then partly sunny, high near 90.

There’s a marginal risk of severe thunderstorms forming today in most of the Garden State, including parts of the two-county area, according to the Storm Prediction Center. If possible, reschedule strenuous activities to the early morning or evening. Saranac Lake should be a good 10-15 degrees cooler during that stretch. Tuesday through at least Thursday we can expected scattered showers and thunderstorms.
