9-Year-Old ‘The Room’ Star Charms Audience At Critic’s Choice Awards
Kirsten Dunst won the best actress in a movie made for television or limited series prize, Jesse Plemons picked up best supporting actor in a movie made for television or limited series, and Jean Smart scored best supporting actress in a movie made for television or limited series.

The 9-year-old “Room” star won the Best Young Actor trophy – along with every audience member’s heart – at the Critics’ Choice Awards Sunday night.
Spotlight, directed by Tom McCarthy, was named the Best Picture at the event. Judd Apatow presented Amy Schumer with the Critics’ Choice MVP award for her work on Comedy Central’s “Inside Amy Schumer’ and Universal’s “Trainwreck'”.
Best Sci-Fi/Horror Movie: “Ex Machina”.
He said “this is super cool”, as he held onto his award and stepped onto a box so he could speak into the microphone. He immediately thanked director Ryan Coogler and co-star Michael B Jordan. “You want them to say, ‘What a fearless photo.’ You’re like, ‘Thanks, wow, thank you'”.
Jacob Tremblay was just one of the deserving winners to collect a gong, but his adorable acceptance speech made sure that it was his name that was left on everyone’s lips.
“The Hateful Eight” and “Furious 7” won the award for best score and song respectively.
Tremblay won the best young performer category at last night’s Critics’ Choice Awards and – after kissing his mum and high-fiving his dad – absolutely nailed his acceptance speech. But one special award was handed out to Industrial Light & Magic, and a special guest from Star Wars: The Force Awakens was on hand to help out.
In TV land, Jeffery Tambor won the Best Actor in a Comedy Series prize for “Transparent”.
On the TV front, “Mr. Robot” built on its Golden Globes momentum, winning for best drama, actor Rami Malek and supporting actor Christian Slater. Rachel Bloom took home the Best Actress in a Comedy Series award for “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend”.

NBC’s “The Voice” regained its title as best reality show-competition – past year it went to “Shark Tank” – making it three times now the critics have turned their chairs for the popular singing competition series. Timothy Olyphant won guest actor in a comedy for “The Grinder”.
