Holiday was a day off for many, students at St. Martin Middle School chose to spend it honoring Martin Luther King with a day of service. “I think it’s super important that we’re finally talking about it and addressing this issue”.
“This day is devoted to improving education and I hope for the sake of the children of SC, progress is possible”, said Clinton.
The Democratic candidates for President typically attend King Day at the Dome during election years and this year was no exception.

But even in the winter chill, everyone I spoke to said nothing could stop them from being out here. King is one of the only people in history whose name is a national holiday. I can eat with other people.

“They want to make themselves better”, said Howard. “I got her.” I was blessed and fortunate as a youngster to see that and live through that.
“We marched just to honor, not protesting”, Lane College NAACP Adviser Ameera Graves said.
After the march, participants enjoyed a free viewing of the movie “Woodlawn” at the Palace Theatre.
Siblings Andre, Ashlyn, Alyssa and Amara said they enjoyed watching the parade and eating lots of candy.
