As the Chiefs offensive coordinator from 2013-15, Pederson helped guide Kansas City to a 31-17 regular-season record and playoff appearances in 2013 and 2015.

Pederson became part of Reid’s staff in 2009 and was the quarterbacks coach in 2012 when the Eagles were so inept and with such bad chemistry that Reid fired a chunk of his staff and wound up being fired himself. Pederson hedged when asked if he had authority over the 53-man roster the Eagles will take into the 2016 season.
Pederson has had three previous stints with the Eagles.

Pederson will replace Chip Kelly, who was sacked one week before the end of a disappointing 7-9 season. He said the team initially identified 25 candidates, then whittled the number to 10 and finally interviewed six in an “exhaustive search.”Lurie said he also used the period between firing Kelly and hiring Pederson to talk to players, and that process played an important role in the selection of Pederson The players, he said, were “loud and clear” in their view”.
In his first seven games, he completed 62 percent of his passes with nine touchdowns and 10 interceptions while averaging 252 yards per game.
In early December, Reid revealed that at some point in the season, he partially ceded playcalling duties to Pederson, who noted at the time that it only happens “occasionally”.
