New modes and community-created maps are just the start: even before the game launched, the developer confirmed that all of Halo 5’s downloadable content would be free. Outfit your Spartans with all-new armor sets and unlock weapon skins from worlds beyond the Halo Universe. The iconic firearm will also be available to those in Forge.
The Infinity Armory update is also set to add the Battle Rifle from Halo 2 to Guardians, with 343 Industry saying, “BR55 – Battle Rifle fires 9.5mm rounds from 36-round magazine”. Riptide is a smaller map designed for Arena mode, and 343 calls it “a new take” on an existing map, Fathom.
The studio has made it clear that it plans to introduce new maps and other REQ content for free for at least the rest of 2016, making sure that fans of the game have a reason to stay engaged with both the Arena and the Warzone multiplayer modes.
Today, the Halo team released some new info on the upcoming Infinity’s Armor update. According to 343 Industries, it will be unlocked by Spartan Companies who level their Kill Commendations. What do you hope gets added next? Weapon skins include a rainbow-colored assault rifle and magnum with the “Mister Chief” and “Spicy Locke” monikers, respectively.
The Infinity’s Armory update is receiving its final testing as well, and as mentioned above, remains on track for delivery this month. There’s also a pepperoni pizza and bald eagle weapon skin. During the stream, all sorts of new content will be fully revealed.
