She also claimed she is unable to earn income in another profession due to her “high risk pregnancy” that will keep her out of professional basketball until next year.

Soon after pulling the plug on her relationship with Johnson, Griner called the marriage “a mistake” in an emotional interview with ESPN.

Now Johnson, who is carrying the twins, is seeking $20,000 per month in spousal support from Griner in addition to $10,000 in advance to be used on Johnson’s legal counsel as the two go to court to address Griner’s annulment petition and Johnson’s counter-petition, according to court documents filed June 29 in Maricopa County, Ariz., via ESPNW. Things appeared to be on the up and up between the two, with Johnson announcing her pregnancy on Instagram on June 4 – only for Griner to seek the annulment a day later. The womens’ May 8 marriage lasted less than a month.

A hearing set for August 17 will review evidence related to Griner’s petition and Johnson’s counter-petition.

But Johnson has challenged Griner’s version of events saying that her newlywed wife’s change of heart was sudden and surprising.

Brian Russo, Johnson’s attorney, said that he didn’t expect further charges to be filed.

Brittney Griner and Glory Johnson’s marriage may be over, but if Johnson gets her way, they’ll be in each other’s lives for years.

Johnson is also asking Griner to continue making vehicle payments on the Mercedes purchased for her by Griner.

According to The Tulsa World’s Mike Brown, Johnson and Griner were arrested “on misdemeanor charges of assault and disorderly conduct” after their argument turned into a physical confrontation.

Brown says the WNBA suspended both players for seven games on May 15. Apparently adding to Johnson’s problems is that Brittney Griner was in control of the family purse strings, and is still able to make money.
