Oculus VR acquire new 3D tech company
To do so, the new company will join Oculus VR’s hardware engineering and computer visions teams, designing new technologies for virtual reality and human-computer interactions.

Pebbles Interfaces made the announcement on its website, saying it was joining Oculus, which Facebook acquired for $2 billion.
Pebbles has also integrated its technology into the the virtual reality headset by Oculus, which will allow people to operate the device through hand gestures.
Pebbles Interfaces, based in Kfar Saba, is Facebook’s fourth acquisition in Israel, the Israeli business daily Globes reported Sunday. Oculus has also said that it expects the acquisition to speeden up its work on virtual reality technologies.
The Oculus blog stated, “We’re excited to announce that we’ve entered into an agreement to acquire Pebbles Interfaces – one of the leading teams in depth sensing technology and computer vision”.
Meanwhile, Oculus did not reveal the financial details of the deal; however, a report on Wall Street Journal, points out that the company is expected to shell out $60 million for the deal.
Facebook is all the more interested in expanding its virtual reality section as the latter can make social networking much more interesting and interactive. Oculus, on the other hand, has confirmed the Israeli company’s recent declaration, stating that Pebbles’ work mainly focuses on the integration of optics, software and sensors to detect and accurately reproduce hand movements.
Pebbles’ technology enables users to carry out various hand and figure movements with the help of their virtual reality headsets.

It is not known whether the company’s employees will remain in Israel or not, according to Globes.
