He has been arrested from Haryana early this morning, said Banaglore police officer P Harisekaran.
Bengaluru Police on Thursday arrested a Haryana resident on charges of killing a 31-year-old techie Kusum Kumari at her residence in Bengaluru. “He came to Bangalore International Airport at 8.45 am and reached Mahaveer Kings Place apartment at 11 am where Kusum was residing”.
Kusum, a divorcee, was working with IBM’s Noida office before she took a transfer to Bengaluru. There is speculation that both of them could have argued and the accused then allegedly used a sharp object to attack Kusum and then strangulate her.
“It looked like the victim was strangulated using a wire”. She signed him in as a guest and it looks like they went to her flat. There were few injuries inflicted to her neck with a sharp object with blood oozing out from her nose, mouth and neck. Later, Nidhi Sharma lodged a complaint at Kadugodi Police Station.
Details about the accused and how long he had known the victim for are being verified.
The woman has been identified as Kusum Rani, a native of Punjab. Police say Singh, who was now unemployed was asking Singla for money.
She alleged in her complaint that the man had contacted her on the pretext of marrying her, but started asking her for money.
