Amitabh Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra to be Incredible India ambassadors

It is said that none of the two stars will charge a single penny for the three year contract.

Senior bureaucrat Amitabh Kant, a secretary at the department of industrial policy and promotion had said earlier that “The brand ambassador must be the best brand ambassador for promoting and marketing India, he can not be the destroyer of the brand”.

According to reports, Big B and PeeCee have replaced Aamir Khan as Incredible India brand ambassadors. “But if the brand ambassador says India is intolerant, he surely is not working as brand ambassador”. After Aamir Khan’s exit from the responsibility recently, government took into account the names of a number of icons from across the disciplines, to assign with the duty.

When asked about the appointment of Bachchan and Chopra for the role, Tourism Minister Mahesh Sharma only said the the ministry has “not issued any notification” in this regard. “So yes, the choice is apt in that sense”.

Bollywood veteran Mr Bachchan, 73, the brand ambassador of Gujarat Tourism, had been picked for the position some time ago. People will come to India and tourist flow will increase only if the brand ambassador of “Incredible India” promotes India as incredible India.
