Jacob Tremblay gets Critics’ Choice award for Room with cute speech
“Fury Road” was a clear favourite at last night’s Critics” Choice Awards (January 17th 2016), taking home no less than nine awards – though missed out on Best Picture.

The Canadian child actor had the audience completely in awe with his incredibly sweet acceptance speech, when he picked up the award for Best Young Actor for his role in the drama, Room.
Jacob Tremblay melted hearts at the Critics’ Choice Awards when he referred to his win as the “best day of his life”.
“Before I get into any more trouble I want to say thank you to my director, Ryan Coogler”, Stallone said.
In the television category, USA Network’s cyber-thriller Mr. Robot won three awards, including best drama series, best actor in a drama series for its Egyptian-American star Rami Malek, and best supporting actor in a drama series for Christian Slater.
The 9-year-old won Best Young Actor at the Critics’ Choice Awards in Santa Monica, California, on Sunday, and absolutely slayed his acceptance speech.
And as if that wasn’t enough to send the crowd cooing over him, Jacob ended his speech with: “I just want to thank my parents”.
As for television, Rachel Bloom won again for Best Actress in a Comedy Series for her work in “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend”.
The Critics’ Choice Awards unfolded on Sunday with a whole heap of stars walking the red carpet and collecting their trophies.
His co-star Brie Larson won Best Actress just a week after winning the Golden Globe. The 34-year-old actress and comedian was presented the award by her “Trainwreck” director Judd Apatow.
“And I know where to put this … right on the shelf right beside my Millennium Falcon”.
“Silicon Valley” star T.J. Miller is hosting the ceremony, which will air live on A&E, Lifetime and LMN beginning at 8 p.m. Amy Schumer is getting the Critics’ Choice MVP Award.
History favors ‘Spotlight.’ Since 2006, only two of the films the critics selected as best picture have not gone on to take the Oscars prize as well.
