In the latest video from The X-Files, we get to learn more about the son they had-and what giving him up meant to them.

“The X-Files” actor David Duchovny has revealed he isn’t a big sci-fi fan, despite making his name in the series as FBI Special Agent Fox Mulder. Now, all the moving parts are in place, and we’re on the verge of welcoming back TV’s extra-terrestrial sleuths for six all-new episodes. Although there has been another movie since the series was cancelled 14 years ago, fans of The X-Files universe have been chomping at the bit to see Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny return to television with some episodic content for a new generation.

Duchovny’s Fox Mulder was a true outlier.

But which of these four compelling characters do you identify with the most? Do you still believe? The truth is in our quiz…

The world, meanwhile, has only served up more unexplained phenomena, said series creator Chris Carter.

The Lone Gunmen conspiracy-theory trio also will be back, although they did “meet their maker” in a previous season, Carter said, explaining that “they’re actually back in a fantasy”.

Viewers can see the first minute of the first episode on doyoustillbelieve. David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson know what they are doing.

“Every episode, you have to find the heart of that episode and you have to find it with those characters, and so it’s not like it is paint by numbers”, he says. The all-new episodes will feature appearances by guest stars, including Joel McHale (“Community”), Robbie Amell (“The Flash”), Lauren Ambrose (“Dig”, “Six Feet Under”), Annabeth Gish (“The Bridge”), Annet Mahendru (“The Americans“), Rhys Darby (“Flight of the Conchords”), Kumail Nanjiani (“Silicon Valley”) and William B. Davis, who reprises his role as “Cigarette Smoking Man”. Spying. And even more alarming is that they’ve admitted to as much. “It took a good decade to start thinking of it as the gift it was and to properly appreciate the opportunity we had and how fortunate I was to play such a great, iconic character in a show that was iconic in itself”. The series’ cult following gradually led to “The X-Files” being a global hit.

How do you think the new episodes stack up against the originals? “I tell people when they are handsome, I tell other actresses when I think their work is unbelievable”, she said. It’s not for the squeamish and does bring to mind some of the creepiest old school X-Files episodes.

The “X-Files” finale in 2002 coincided with a shift in people’s perceptions of the USA government in a post-9/11 world, Carter said.

That certainly does seem to be the case now that the show is just around the corner to premiere on Fox with a 6-episode event that fans have always been waiting to see. “We just got better at what we did over time”.

“I think it’s a nice mix”, Duchovny says of the new episodes. “I think we’re more on each other’s side”.

So take a look at my video review of The X-Files, which moves to its regular slot of Mondays at 8 PM on January 25, and tells us – do you still believe?
