Oculus Rift to Ship to Customers in March for $599

This launch is a big event for the nascent PC VR industry as many believe the Rift is a key device which could bring virtual reality into the mainstream. Even an infusion of billions of dollars from Facebook didn’t speed up development. Also if you are in the hunt for a new PC, Oculus will be offering a PC and Rift bundle in February starting at $1499 Dollars.

Well, that changes now. Yesterday, co-founder Palmer Luckey revealed an exciting detail: preordering the Rift reserves a spot for later Oculus Touch preorders.

In 2012, virtual reality company Oculus VR started a Kickstarter for its first virtual reality headset Oculus Rift.

Oculus Rift headsets will officially cost $599, and they will begin shipping to buyers at the end of March, USA Today reports.

“As one of the early supporters of Oculus, you helped make this revolution happen”.

All preorders come with a headset, a sensor, two original games made just for the Rift, an Oculus remote and an Xbox One controller. Rs 40,150) and ship to 20 countries – India not included – beginning on March 28, the company has announced. The headset can be pre-ordered from the Oculus.com website from 8 a.m. US Pacific Time (6 p.m. GMT). The device, Oculus’ Touch motion controllers, allows motion tracking of VR users.

The Touch was originally scheduled to be released earlier, but now due to extra work needed, the Touch won’t be shipped until the second half of 2016, Oculus shared on its blog.
