Browns still undecided on QB Manziel’s future

Despite what a lot of Browns fans want to believe-that Manziel is coveted by Dallas-there probably isn’t a huge market for a guy who failed to finish his second consecutive season in good standing with his employer.

The Cleveland Browns won’t rush into a decision on the future of Johnny Manziel.

Brown said the team would sit down with Manziel “at the appropriate time”, though it’s unclear when that time will be.

Sashi Brown, the team’s newly appointed vice president of football operations, said Thursday the team is “not in any panic to make any decision one way or another on him”.

But, as Brown reminds us, nothing has been done yet. “I do know he was late for his treatment and he was fined for that, the missed treatment for his concussion protocol”. “Very competitive. I think his questions to us were largely focused on how are we going to win”. When new head coach Hue Jackson was still in the interview process, he reportedly told the team that he wanted to move on from Manziel if he got the job-and he got the job. A recent published report claims Jackson would prefer to part ways with Manziel.

Brown said that because he’s been preoccupied with hiring a coach and a personnel staff, he hasn’t had time to investigate where Manziel even was for the regular season finale, amid reports he was in Las Vegas.
