Iran to carry on with missile program despite US sanctions: spokesman
On Saturday the US and European Union lifted sanctions against Iran after a report by the worldwide nuclear watchdog said the country had complied with all of the nuclear agreement’s requirements, including the dismantling of the reactor at its Arak nuclear facility.

“Iran’s missile programme has never been created to be capable of carrying nuclear weapons”, Mr Ansari was quoted as saying by the ISNA news agency.
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said that lifting worldwide sanctions on his country is not enough for improvement of economic condition in the country.
Iran in response says new United States sanctions on its ballistic missile program have NO legal or moral legitimacy.
The U.S. Treasury Department said the five Iranians worked to get missile components for Iran, as did the network of companies based In the United Arab Emirates and China that used third parties to try to deceive foreign suppliers and hide the identity of who would ultimately be using the materials.
The US and Iran broke off diplomatic relations after the 1979 hostage-taking at the US Embassy in Tehran.
Still, Farashbandi said he’s not so certain about the nuclear aspect of the U.S.-Iranian agreement.
“We’re not going to waver in the defense of our security or that of our allies and partners”, Obama said yesterday while announcing sanctions against 11 individuals and entities as a result of an Iranian ballistic missile launch in October.
American prisoners in Iran have been released through “smart” diplomacy and now America and the entire world is more secure because of the recently-concluded nuclear deal, U.S. President Barack Obama said Sunday.
Kerry also confirmed the release of the fourth Iranian-American freed in the prisoner swap, Nosratollah Khosravi-Roodsari, and American Matthew Trevithick, who was released in a separate process.
International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Yukiya Amano announced Saturday that Iran completed necessary preparatory steps to start implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). The bank’s assets were frozen in 2007 because of its reported involvement with Iran’s nuclear program.

“I don’t see these sanctions as being any kind of game changers”, said Jamal Abdi, policy director for the National Iranian American Council, an organization that assists Iranian-American citizens. The U.S. will also drop Interpol “red notices” – essentially arrest warrants – on about 14 Iranians outside the U.S, according to The Washington Post. The US maintains the prisoner release was not part of the nuclear deal.
