Carey, 45, is one of the most successful singers of all time, releasing her first album in 1990. TMZ has paparazzi photos from the night Carey and Packer got engaged at a restaurant with friends of the couple present.
The couple met past year at a movie premiere in Aspen, and have been inseparable ever since. James Packer is also not a newbie to marriage and also has two behind him. Mariah Carey has been married twice before.
No wedding date has been set yet.
They made their red carpet debut in September past year at The Internpremiere in New York City after being photographed getting cozy while on an Italian vacation in June.
According to Forbes magazine, Packer is Australia’s fourth-richest person with a fortune estimated at around $4.7 billion.

Carey had been married once before Cannon to music mogul Tommy Mottola…so this will be her 3rd marriage. Mariah Carey plans a world tour later in 2016.
