Hurt by a string of food-borne illnesses at its Mexican restaurants, Chipotle reportedly plans to temporarily close all of its locations on February 8 to meet with employees about food safety.
The company’s spokesman Chris Arnold said that the meeting would be held on February 8 and all the staff will participate in it. The meeting will be covering numerous issues.
Has anyone alerted Cyn Santana about this crisis?

Chipotle has suffered from several outbreaks of E. coli, Salmonella and norovirus that infected customers and led to an unrelenting stream of criticism and mockery on social media. Chipotle also says the company will thank employees for their work in recent weeks. Its problem worsened after a norovirus outbreak in Boston in early December that sickened dozens. In October and November, more than 50 people were sickened in nine states due to an E. coli outbreak traced to the chain. He outlined steps the company is taking with suppliers to check the quality of ingredients, but noted that the process would be hard because Chipotle sources its 64 different ingredients from more than 100 local producers. This type of service set Chipotle apart from other fast food Mexican restaurants and gave customers the feeling of having fresh ingredients in their meals. One of the norovirus outbreaks is being investigated by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California, in conjunction with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s Office of Criminal Investigations. Soon thereafter, Chipotle will begin an intensive campaign focused on assuring news outlets that the food outbreaks are over and reminding consumers how great the food tastes, according to Food Safety News. Around 42 people were reported sick with E. coli infection and after an investigation by the health authorities it was found out that nearly all the cases were linked with Chipotle.
