Adele’s ‘Hello’ fastest to reach 1 billion views on YouTube

Of the 17 videos that have reached 1 billion, four of these were released a year ago.

The 27-year old songwriter outpaced the record set by South Korean pop sensation Psy, who came out of the woodwork in 2012 with the famous hit “Gangnam Style”, hitting one billion views after 160 days. In one day, the video reportedly grabbed 1 million views and had a steady increase every day that lead to the current over 100 million views.

Guns N’ Roses will have two more concerts for their reunion, whose tickets are shaping up to be one of the year’s most coveted.

‘If anyone deserves it, it’s Adele and that song, ‘ said Susanne Daniels, the head of original programming at YouTube.

They include Maroon 5’s Sugar, Major Lazer’s Lean On, OneRepublic’s Counting Stars, LMFAO’s Party Rock and Sia’s Chandelier.

British singer, Adele’s recent album managed to gain ample attention from her loyal fan base after the singer rolled out with her first single, “Hello”.

“While one billion views is rare, it’s occurring at a faster rate”.

Records aside, Adele was happy about how the Hello video turned out. Platinum was for a million sales.

Cilla Black’s Very Best Of, which became her first number one album ever following her death in August, was 25th on the list. In 2014, Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space” took 238 days to reach the same number.
