Steve Harvey Formally Apologizes To Miss Colombia After Miss Universe Flub
In the two-part interview on The Steve Harvey Show titled ‘Miss Universe: The Truth, ‘ Wurtzbach came to Harvey’s defense, saying he attended all the rehearsals of the competition, contrary to rumours that he was at gambling at casinos and drinking.

Harvey brought Gutierrez onto his talk show where he apologised profusely to the Colombian beauty, and even asked whether she was planning to sue him. One way to start off an apology is by commencing the interview with an awkwardly long hug.
Harvey said that he was “ashamed” by the mistake, but also “a little bit angry”. As you can see from these two clips, the comedian is still affected by the whole thing and wells up quickly as he expresses his regret over the Miss Universe gaff.
The 22-year-old chatted about how much the Miss Colombia title meant to her and how proud she is of her country.
“You’re the one person…you’re the one person that I really want to talk to because of the mistake I made. You wanted me to win, you know?” she added. “Everyone is gonna laugh at me and make fun of me'”. She also said that she is staying right now in Miami, Florida with her relatives while Wurtzbach is in New York City. And telling AJ that after his on-air snafu, Steve and his family faced death threats. “Genuinely, how did you feel I handled the situation?”
Harvey, who looked relieved the blame wasn’t all on him, listened intently as Gutierrez explained that now she’s starting to understand that the reason for the horrifying incident was bigger than the Miss Universe pageant.
“I was watching the videos and I could not believe that it happened to me so I need to calm down and to think what I’m going to say and what I’m going to do now”. I don’t mind Miss Colombia sharing the limelight with me because of what happened.

And we expect people will move on … until the pageant inevitably announces that Harvey will be back as host again.
