Former Bison assistant Bradley gets one-year extension with Jaguars
Wash, a 20-year coaching veteran including nine National Football League seasons, previously worked with Bradley with the Seattle Seahawks (2011-12), Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2007) and at North Dakota State (2002-03).

Wash, 47, replaces Bob Babich, who was sacked after the 2015 season. In Jacksonville, that record was enough to earn Gus Bradley a contract extension. He was the defensive line coach prior to Thursday’s promotion.
The Jaguars allowed 448 points in 2015, one point shy of the franchise-worst total of 2013.
The team announced a one-year extension for Bradley on Friday morning, extending his contract through the 2017 season.
The Jaguars promoted defensive line coach-run game coordinator Todd Wash to defensive coordinator.
Khan is expecting significant improvement, just like Bradley is betting on himself that his choice as defensive coordinator (Wash) will produce the kind of up-tick that new offensive coordinator Greg Olson did past year. But like I’ve said before, everybody looks at the three-year record and the first two years were about surviving and building.
Wash has been Gus Bradley’s staff since he arrived in Jacksonville. I think that starts with me holding people accountable.
“For the players, it’s exciting for us to know that the [ownership] trusts Coach Bradley”, linebacker Paul Posluszny said.
“For an organization that we believe is ready to make its move, extending Gus through the 2017 season provides our club with much-needed stability in every respect”, said general manager Dave Caldwell. If this mostly symbolic contract extension helps provide even the tiniest bit of stability to the coaching staff and roster, it’s worth it. The money isn’t a big deal and the Jaguars need to do everything possible to try and lure a handful of premier free agents this offseason.
In reality, though, Bradley is in the same situation he was when Khan announced his return on December 29: He has to win games in 2016 or he’s gone.

Bradley is entering his fourth season with the Jaguars. “I appreciate Shad supporting this approach as we enter a pivotal season with high expectations”.
