NFL Network’s and Jackson confidante Mike Silver reported the coach felt “comfortable” with the Browns during the interview process.

Starting quarterback Andy Dalton enjoyed his finest season as a pro, as he passed for 3,250 yards and 25 touchdowns versus seven interceptions in 13 games.

“I’ve never experienced anything like that before in my life”, Jackson said later. I like challenges. What a challenge, but when you have the support that I think we have here, those challenges become reality.

Jackson becomes the Browns’ sixth coach since 2008. What’s different this time is that he may be the top coach on the market this winter, as Bengals offensive coordinator Hue Jackson (above) accepted the job on Wednesday. I knew everyone was being fired. Haslam recently promoted team counsel Sashi Brown to vice president of football operations and pulled Paul DePodesta, a baseball analytics expert, away from the New York Mets to direct strategies for the team.

With the coach’s years of experience in the division and as accomplished a resume as anyone the Browns have hired of late, there’s reason for optimism as the Jackson era in Cleveland begins.

Jackson, a former Oakland coach and innovative offensive coordinator in Cincinnati the past two seasons, acknowledged during his introductory news conference Wednesday night that Manziel was a topic of conversation in his interviews with the organization. “Among them are cornerback Justin Gilbert, receiver Josh Gordon (presuming the National Football League reinstates him following his year”™s suspension) and perhaps quarterback-turned-receiver Terrelle Pryor, who seemed to lack confidence when he finally got his chance at the end of the season.

“But at the same time, I have to give everybody on our football team a fair opportunity to see who they are, to truly learn who they are, and then make decisions from there”. “I’m so looking forward to it and have so many people to thank”.

His name, Hue Jackson, a coach who’s already won over Browns fans. “I’m going to attract good coaches and great coaches”. “To me, that told me that this building is electric and they want to win and they expect to win and they understand that there’s a lot of work to do, but everybody is ready to roll up their sleeves and go to work”.

“In their search, the Browns got their first break with the Bengals”™ loss, making Jackson immediately available. I think our players will love playing for him.

Following a search that lasted less than two weeks, owner Jimmy Haslam made the 50-year-old Jackson the face of his team, and just maybe the one to make it relevant again. Cleveland and Miami are in similar positions in that there are questions in both the front office and the personnel on the field. I’m not sure we can do it all, but here’s what we’re working on.’ He was always interested. The team announced on Wednesday that former Bengals offensive coordinator Hue Jackson has been hired to fill the vacancy.

While the 8-8 record also tied for the club’s most wins since the 2002 squad lost Super Bowl XXXVII, Jackson was still fired.

But consider the Browns players who need similar guidance.
