Israel forces evict Jewish settlers from West Bank buildings

Israel’s Interior Minister Aryeh Deri said Thursday he has revoked the permanent residency permits of four Palestinians from east Jerusalem who allegedly killed Israelis in Jerusalem in recent attacks.

“Under worldwide law, Israel is responsible for meeting the needs of Palestinians living under its occupation and for facilitating humanitarian assistance, not for obstructing aid and pressuring residents to leave so that Israeli settlements can expand”, said Robert Piper, coordinator for humanitarian and United Nations development activities for the Occupied Palestinian Territory.

He said the defense ministry said they would not examine the documentation showing they had bought the house until they left.

A Palestinian teenage girl tried to stab an Israeli guard at a West Bank settlement on Saturday but was shot dead, police said, in the third settlement attack in a week. Some sellers have been killed by Palestinian gunmen.

Xi’s remarks echoed the demands of Palestinians, who are seeking to create an independent state on the occupied territories as well as the Palestinian enclave of the Gaza Strip. The other, where the Ibrahimi mosque stands, is known to Muslims as the Sanctuary of Abraham.

Edelstein said in a statement that “when Jewish communities abide by the law, the appropriate thing would be to wait with the evacuation and examine the legal options to strengthen the Jewish communities”.

Israeli military chief of staff Gadi Eizenkot told a security conference on Monday that a crackdown, such as new restrictions on Palestinian workers, could push more Palestinians toward violence. “Of particular concern is the months-long escalation of tensions in Palestine and in Israeli cities, where civilians on both sides often fall victim”.

Since the start of October, Palestinian stabbings, car-rammings and shootings have killed 25 Israelis and a USA citizen. “Therefore the invaders were evacuated”.

Ya’alon, in response, called on Israeli lawmakers to “restrain their remarks, support the rule of law and avoid encouraging [citizens] to take the law into their hands”.

The incident stirred unrest in the right-wing coalition of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, which hold only a one-seat majority in the parliament. Media reported that three parliamentarians were threatening to boycott Knesset votes until those evicted were allowed back in. According to Israeli political analyst Tal Schneider, the decision to take over the two homes was orchestrated by high-ranking members within the ruling Likud party, none of whom actually live in West Bank settlements.
