“We’ll wait to see what actually happens”, Cuomo said at the briefing.

The governor’s plan to issue a state-wide state of emergency came a day after Mayor de Blasio announced the city would be under a “winter weather emergency” from 8 a.m. until midnight Saturday.

MTA bus service will be suspended as noon Saturday and Subways will run normal weekend service and possibly service will be reduced as the storm develops.

“Between the snow and the flooding, personally, I’m more anxious about the flooding”, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said at a press conference on Friday afternoon. “Travel conditions are unsafe, and we want to keep all New Yorkers safe until this storm passes”.

Snow fall totals in the city have reached at least a foot in Central Park – and is expected to reach 24 inches. He declared a state of emergency earlier. “We are constantly monitoring the forecast and are ready to deploy a major, multi-agency operation”, de Blasio said in a news release.
