Mahindra KUV100 Has the Looks to Kill, or Does It?
Moreover, Mahindra has tied-up with e-commerce giant, Flipkart to sell the newly launched Mahindra KUV100 online. With a claimed mileage of 25.32 km/litre for the petrol variant and 18.15 km/litre for the diesel model, the KUV100 also falls in the category of the most fuel efficient cars in its segment. Powering the KUV100 are 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol and diesel mill that churn out 83PS and 78PS respectively.

Announcing the tie-up Anil Goteti, Vice President – Business, Flipkart in a statement said, “Online today is a must have strategy for all players to respond to the growing demand of their customers who are spread across different cities and towns in the country”.
The KUV100 seen in the picture above is fitted with what Mahindra calls the explorer kit. “I am sure that this association will be mutually beneficial for both the companies”, said Veejay Ram Nakra, a senior vice president with Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.
An investment of Rs. 1,200 crore was put into developing the KUV 100 and it took four years for final product to come out including a brand new petrol engine.
“Yet another “Make in India” product, the KUV100 aptly represents our “Rise” philosophy in action, as our development team used alternative thinking and challenged the limits to deliver a vehicle that is poised to be nothing less than a game-changer for us”.
The KUV100 will be powered by Mahindra’s all-new mFalcon engine family, and on offer are two engine options.
Diesel Engine – The mFalcon D75 is a 1.2 litre turbocharged common rail diesel engine. At present, the company controls a 40 per cent market share in the SUV segment.
The mFalcon G80 has an all-aluminum body and is the lightest engine in its segment. The diesel engine has the capability 77bhp with a peak torque of 190Nm.

Besides, the flexible sixth seat can be converted to a large armrest for the driver and co-driver. KUV100 is also available in a 5-seater option. Not just that, dual airbags are available on optional variants from the base variant as well and as standard on the top end variant.
