Ted Cruz begins New Hampshire campaign swing

But Cruz hopes to spark momentum with a strong start to the 2016 primary season, and he sees a lot at stake in New Hampshire, the nation’s second nominating contest. While Trump makes Cruz the constant target on campaign rallies and on Twitter, Cruz is trying to convince voters that Trump is liberal and not the conservative he is claiming.

“So, we believe we’re positioned to do well in the first four states”, Cruz said, “and we believe Super Tuesday’s going to be a tremendous day for us”.

At a tea party on Saturday, Trump said: “You give a campaign contribution to Ted Cruz, you get whatever the hell you want!”

In that “Meet the Press” broadcast, the billionaire was questioned over his support of abortion and gay individuals serving in the military.

“I’m leaning toward him now, because he has more Christian values and I’m Christian”, Cale said.

He then rattled off a list of Democratic politicians to whom he said Trump donated money, including Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and former representative Anthony Weiner.

The GOP riled up many Trump supporters last week, following President Barack Obama’s State of the Union address to Congress. Traditionally used to refute the president’s talking points, the GOP response urged Americans not to listen to “the siren call of the angriest voices”, as South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley put it.

Cruz accused Trump of inventing the NY values theme himself.

“He raises money in NY and then criticizes NY values”, Mr. Rubio said. “People understand exactly what that is”.

A new strategy for Cruz is describing Trump’s recent liberal stances as “New York values” compared to the tea-party backed Cruz. “If he wants to engage in insults that’s his problem, I like Donald Trump, I respect Donald Trump”.

Today, Donald Trump tells George Stephanopoulos that Ted Cruz is “a nasty guy” and “nobody likes him”. “I mean, they loaned him a million dollars, so they certainly have control over him”, Trump said on CNN’s “State of the Union”. “Nobody in Congress likes him”.

“Everybody that loves the people of NY, and all they have been thru, should get hypocrites like Ted Cruz out of politics!”

Trump and Cruz are atop the field in Iowa, where voters caucus February 1.

Trump, in an interview on ABC’s “This Week”, also threw in some vintage ad hominem rhetoric. ‘And it’s amusing seeing the media lead in NY and D.C. run around with their hair on fire wondering what on earth are NY values’.

Comparing candidates side by side and in person is a privilege and responsibility New Englanders take seriously.

“We shouldn’t have a whole lotta folks running”, said Henry Barbour, a Republican national committeeman from Mississippi.
