It was announced by the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday afternoon that head coach David Blatt had his position as head coach terminated, and Tyronn Lue would be replacing him.

Coming into this one, the news of Cavs head coach David Blatt’s firing, which occurred on Friday, has overshadowed the game.
We knew that LeBron James never wanted Blatt as the coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers; the other players on the team weren’t far behind with that belief.
Dallas Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle and Detroit Pistons head coach Stan Van Gundy both had Blatt’s back in the wake of the firing.
He said he did not consult James before removing Blatt and promoting Lue, who is only 38.

ESPN.com reported Blatt almost was sacked last season in December because some players, including LeBron James, were disenchanted with the coach.
Whether this was part of the “disconnect in the locker room” that general manager David Griffin talked about, Lue is now the coach and the team should be ready to, uh, win.
Blatt becomes the seventh National Basketball Association coach in 40 years to reach a final only to be fired the next season.
“I know that sounds insane when we’re sitting with a 30-11 record”. Lue has been an assistant on a few teams, but he is most famous for playing time on the 2000 and 2001 Los Angeles Lakers NBA Championship teams.

“So, today, we are elevating Tyronn Lue, from his role as Associate Head Coach to Head Coach”.
“The only thing more absurd than what just happened would be (Golden State’s) Steve Kerr or (San Antonio’s Gregg) Popovich getting fired”, Van Gundy said.
“So he made the change that he felt was appropriate for this team”. He’s one of the greatest coaches in European history. It’s possible Cleveland’s Kevin Love will be added as a reserve.

Lue has a reputation for understanding how to manage personalities and is said to have full support in the Cavs locker room, and LeBron James in particular. Fresh off a 125-94 blowout loss at home to the Warriors, the Bulls failed to cover as a 3.5-point underdog last night in Boston (110-101).
