It’s no surprise to learn that Jose Mourinho really fancies the Manchester United gig, yet hearing that he wrote a six-page letter to the club to try and convince them to appoint him is really very amusing indeed.
The agent of José Mourinho, Jorge Mendes, has branded a report making the rounds, claiming the Portuguese wrote to Manchester United regarding his credentials to be the next manager as “ridiculous and absurd”, The Guardian reports.
According to the report, Mourinho sets out how he would be prepared to change his style of management to suit the values at Old Trafford and what changes he would make to the squad. The incumbent is former Bayern and Netherlands coach Louis van Gaal, whose team is having a torrid time in the Premier League.
“It is absolutely ridiculous and totally absurd”.
The Independent on Sunday also claimed that Mourinho gave a “forensic analysis” of United’s team this season and suggested areas which could be improved.
Mourinho, 52, is available after being sacked by Chelsea in December.

The speculation broke after United had been jeered off by supporters once again following their 1-0 home defeat at the hands of Southampton – a result that has seen the pressure mount on the current occupier of the hotseat Louis van Gaal.
