Clinton: “A President Has To Deliver In Reality”.

Sanders has opened up an eight-point lead over Democratic rival Clinton, leading her in Iowa 51% to 43% among likely Democratic presidential caucus-goers, according to the latest CNN poll.

A defiant Hillary Clinton took only a veiled jab at presidential primary opponent Bernie Sanders for his recent comments calling progressive groups backing Clinton “part of the establishment”. The latter is tied to other quotes cherry-picked from throughout the senator’s career about China and Nicaragua.

“You hear a promise to build a whole new system, but that’s not what you’ll get”, Clinton said. We’ve got to make sure the Affordable Care Act actually works, and we can decrease costs.

Jennifer Aldrich, a 44-year-old fitness instructor in Iowa City, brought her 16-year-old daughter and her daughter’s friend to see Clinton.

In her second presidential bid, a defeat in Iowa could be considered a major setback for the Clinton campaign, as this is traditionally expected to set the pace and tone of the rest of the presidential season.

Also conspicuously absent: The stinging tone of her critiques which accused Sanders of espousing a string of unachievable goals in foreign policy and health care.

Sanders’ name came up throughout the speech, which amounted to the more forceful and direct contrast Clinton has been drawing with Sanders.
