Meanwhile, mild tension prevailed on the University of Hyderabad campus after the police foiled an indefinite fast by seven students. The students have been demanding arrest of Union minister Bandaru Dattatreya, Vice Chancellor P Appa Rao and others who were named in the FIR lodged in connection with the case.

After these students were shifted, a leader of Joint Action Committee or JAC for Social Justice announced that they would continue the agitation.
“It is under the leadership of Modi that the Delhi police brutally lathi-charged the protesting students, male police officers manhandled women students and detained them”, the JAC said. It said the “administration is scared of the fight against their Brahminical fascist ideology”.
