Jose Mourinho’s agent denies Man United ‘love letter’

Despite leading Chelsea to a Premier League title a year ago, Jose Mourinho didn’t even make it to January this season.

The report appears in today’s Independent On Sunday which claims Mourinho says he would be “willing to change” both his managerial and technical style in order to adhere to the club’s principals.

Van Gaal was subjected to vitriol yet again as United fell to a late 1-0 home defeat to Southampton yesterday afternoon, widening the gap between them and Premier League leaders Leicester City to 10 points.

But the manager’s agent Mendes has branded the reports “absurd” and added that the idea of an out-of-work football coach writing to a club offering his services was “ridiculous”.

Manchester United have been struggling this season and are now fifth on the standings with 37 points from 23 matches.

The 52-year-old was supposed to have sent a six-page letter to the Red Devils, detailing why he should be their next manager.

According to the newspaper, Mourinho has outlined his plans for the team and the key decisions he would take if he is appointed as United manager.

So is Mourinho the man to bring the fun back to Old Trafford?

The Express claims that Rodriguez’s agent Jorge Mendes has been in talks with a number of clubs, including Manchester United, over a move for the player.

Mourinho remains the frontrunner with bookmakers to replace Van Gaal should he resign or get the axe, but there is a sense that numerous board members at Old Trafford are unsure if the Portuguese is the right fit for the club.
