Clinton pushes for Iowa win in surprise town hall
“We’re on a home-field disadvantage here”, Clinton said.

Clinton closed her short remarks by giving a nod to the singer-songwriter. “I Googled it for them”, wrote John Podesta on Medium, stating Clinton’s past stances on environmental issues. “I am not interested in ideas that sound good on paper but will never make it in real life”, Clinton said. After weeks of trading leads in similar polls this fall, Sanders has pulled ahead in the most recent surveys of the Iowa caucuses and the New Hampshire primary, threatening Clinton’s one-time lock on the nomination. She put aside most of her direct criticism of Sanders, except on gun control as well as on health care, as she warned against the senator’s call for a government-paid system. Asked which Republican candidate could make them vote in the GOP primary instead, 7 percent of respondents said Kasich and 6 percent said Trump. “It’s perhaps the clearest example yet of Clinton’s powerful appeal to the Democratic Party’s elite, even as support for Sanders explodes among the rank and file”, the Intercept wrote.
Clinton also referenced her four years as Secretary of State while taking aim at her chief rival on foreign policy.
“I don’t think any celebrity would really influence my choice for president that much”, 23-year-old Grace Junkins told ABC News as she waited in line for the event.
Clinton is in the midst of a campaign swing through Iowa today, where she’s been escalating her attacks on Sanders.
In hypothetical general election matchups, Sanders outperforms the former secretary of state, according to a CNN/WMUR poll released Wednesday, beating five different Republican candidates by double digits.
Hillary has said previously she would “work for every vote” while campaigning.
It was the most forceful and direct contrast Clinton has drawn with Sanders yet, a speech that underscored the increasing urgency and acrimony of the race.
The crowd Thursday night included young women who like Clinton and are excited about the historic nature of her candidacy.

Clinton also won the endorsement Saturday of The Des Moines Register, a prominent Iowa newspaper that also backed her in 2008. Lower out-of-pocket costs? She said it was essential. “The President doesn’t believe that, I don’t believe that, and I think Senator Sanders is wrong about that”.
