Michael Bloomberg considers a presidential run
In fact, if Sanders became the Democrat nominee, Rendell would vote for Bloomberg.

Bloomberg has fostered presidential aspirations before.
“I think I’d do very well against him”.
First, Sanders would have to win the Democratic presidential nomination against former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
Asked if he was a good mayor, Christie said: “Oh yeah, he was a good mayor”.
It’s not clear he cares, despite the fact that he has had a strong working relationship with Clinton and once encouraged her to succeed him as mayor of New York City.
Sources told the Daily News Saturday that Bloomberg, appalled by the meteoric rise of Trump and the uncertainty of the Democratic presidential race, could mount a third-party candidacy and had already ordered advisers to assemble plans for an independent run funded with $1 billion of his own cash.
One is the possibility that the Republican ticket may be headed by a polarizing figure, such as his fellow NY billionaire Donald Trump or Sen.
Though no third-party candidate has ever claimed the White House, several prior runs have greatly impacted the trajectory of the race, most recently Texas’ businessman Ross Perot’s 1992 third party run, which some still insist paved the way for Bill Clinton to knock off GOP incumbent George W. Bush. They could win early primaries in Iowa and New Hampshire, respectively.
Social acquaintances and political and business leaders said they had been surprised to find their encouraging remarks about a possible 2016 campaign answered with intense seriousness by Bloomberg, who has stressed that he would run if he saw a path to victory.
Aides are preparing a plan, and Bloomberg set a deadline of early March for a decision, the Times said. Rupert Murdoch has also tweeted about Bloomberg’s candidacy.
Lately, he has earned conservatives’ ire with his push for greater gun control, and the National Rifle Association launched an ad campaign over the summer accusing him of using his personal fortune to try and strip people of their individual rights and freedoms.

Donovan said he could consider supporting Bloomberg, depending on how the rest of the race develops. That development has made Bloomberg increasingly anxious about a general election between Sanders, a self-described socialist, and Trump or Cruz, both of whom have staked out far-right positions on issues like immigration.
