Donald Trump: I could “shoot somebody and I wouldn’t lose any voters”
Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump joked during a Saturday campaign rally that he could shoot someone without losing any votes.

“I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn’t lose any voters, OK?”
The standings remain mostly unchanged from the last Fox News national poll two weeks ago when Trump led with 35 percent support and Cruz followed with 20 percent support.
Trump has previously boasted about the devotion of his fans, but the new comment is the most extreme example of such a remark. But would they support him if he shot someone? “I have the most loyal people – did you ever see that?”
The ad shows clips from Trump’s past interviews, including one where he labels himself a Democrat and another where he declares that “Republicans are just too insane right”.
The issue includes a devastating editorial that calls Trump a threat to conservatism, as well as essays by almost two dozen prominent conservatives who oppose Trump’s candidacy.
Trump said he might sue Cruz over whether he is eligible to run for president of the United States.
“There’s another candidate in this race who talks quite a bit about immigration – and everything else”, Cruz said, a line he added to his stump speech Saturday, recalling the Capitol Hill fight that tried to grant citizenship to those here illegally.
According to a new poll, Trump has opened up a 30-point lead nationally over his rivals for the Republican nomination. “If I thought it was going to matter, maybe I would do it, maybe I wouldn’t”.

Sen. Ted Cruz is in second place in the poll, released Sunday morning, with 23 percent. Trump told an enthusiastic audience at a Christian school, Dordt College.
