Bad news to Manchester United as their defender is taken to hospital
Van Gaal’s side sit fifth in the Premier League table, five points behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur just a week on from the 64-year-old’s claim that United could still challenge for the Premier League title.

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has revealed that the substitution of Marouane Fellaini and the injury to Matteo Darmian were the main reasons for the loss against Southampton on Saturday (23 January). “So our opponent makes it more hard, but still I had the impression we could have done it better”.
Manchester United have announced goalkeeper Victor Valdes will join Standard Liege on loan for the rest of the season.
“We’re fans as well as directors and we don’t want booing, we want cheering”, Gill said. They made a mess of the Champions League this season anyway, failing to qualify from a group that I think they should have coasted through.
United will have no problems attracting managers of that calibre due to their reputation but those guys are simply not available at the moment so I fully expect Van Gaal to battle on.
Dossevi said: “Of course, Valdes is a great player”.
Talking about the crowd’s disappointment, the Dutchman said that he and his club deserved to be booed as they had displayed extremely poor performance, the Mirror reported.
Facing a new onslaught after a 1-0 home defeat by Southampton, Gill, a former chief executive who remains on the United board, said: “Clearly we all hoped the results would have been better and everyone is disappointed with that”.
United declined to respond to the reports on Saturday night, but in a statement on Sunday morning, Jorge Mendes categorically denied them. “We want attacking football and I am sure that will be a key part going forward”.
They managed just one shot on target against Southampton and have gone eight hours and 26 minutes without scoring in the first 45 minutes of games at Old Trafford.
For Crooks, the former Ajax and Bayern Munich boss has not come to terms with the Premier League and is yet to realise its fiercely competitive nature.

The message was clear – Van Gaal is no longer wanted by some United fans and they are becoming increasingly unhappy with the slow, dour football that is often on display at Old Trafford. With William Hill, Van Gaal is at an ominous 2/7.
