Jurgen Klopp breaks glasses during mad Liverpool celebration after 5-4 thriller

Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva revealed what Jurgen Klopp said to the team at half-time of their stunning 5-4 win over Norwich.

Adam Lallana’s stoppage-time goal sealed a 5-4 victory over Norwich City but Liverpool’s set-piece woes continued at Carrow Road.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp lost his glasses during the emotional melee of Adma Lallana’s dramatic late victor against Norwich.

“I usually have a second pair of glasses, but I can’t find them because it’s hard to find glasses without glasses!”

“It’s a wide word, “striker”, a wide spectrum”, the former Borussia Dortmund coach said.

“If they don’t do it, we will do it. It’s really rubbish what we’re doing and we have to solve this”. And today it’s Adam. The fact we had to score five at Carrow Road to secure a win says it all. But 70, 80 percent of the game we played football and that’s what you have to do.

“Conceding four goals is in general not good”.

Klopp said: “It is not something I like to make jokes about but our defensive work from set plays, we know how it works now”.

“That’s how life is: solve one problem and you have another one”.

“The first [Norwich] goal, with the heel, you have to be offside if you stay there”. It’s unbelievable. It’s not possible. I’m sure the celebrations summed it up.

The unmarked Jordan Henderson then pulled one back for Liverpool with a low shot and Firmino’s deft finish from Lallana’s cross levelled the scores before James Milner slotted in following a awful back pass from Russell Martin.

“But a draw would’ve been deserved for both teams”.

Then, a Sebastien Bassong effort looked to have given Alex Neil’s side a hard-fought share of the spoils. “Having the option with Christian is good”, added Klopp.

The manager knows, however, that they must defend better against Stoke, especially at set plays, if they are to reach the Wembley final and give him the opportunity of a first trophy since succeeding Brendan Rodgers in October.

At this point, I (prematurely) took to Twitter, along with many other fans eager to express disappointment in the performance so far. Defensively they made extremely poor decisions, cost ourselves three points, because we had it comfortably. This is only the third time in English Premier League history that The Reds have come back from two goals down to earn an away game victory.

Norwich were determined to meet fire with fire, keeping up with their pressing game, and it bore fruit in the 29th minute.
