– Two teenage brothers were found dead in their Arcadia home today and the boys’ uncle, who was believed to have boarded a flight to China, was being sought as a suspect.

A vigil is being held for the two students on Monday. Police said they showed signs of blunt force trauma, and that there were indications of forced entry into the home.

Authorities are working to have him returned to California.

Deyun Shi, 44, boarded an airplane Friday after his 15- and 16-year-old nephews were found slain inside their home in the 400 block of Fairview Avenue in Arcadia, Los Angeles County sheriff’s officials said.

Shi was already being sought for an alleged assault with a hatchet on his wife Thursday night in La Canada Flintridge, according to Hernandez.

“They earlier said that on Friday, ‘Detectives learned that Arcadia Police Department personnel responded to a ‘911” call from a woman at the residence.

His 2015 Yukon GMC XL has been recovered, according to deputies. Hong Kong has its own, British-based legal system separate from mainland China’s, and the territory – unlike the mainland – has an extradition treaty with the United States.

The suspect’s wife was hospitalized with serious wounds and released, said Lt. Eddie Hernandez, of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Sheriff’s deputies were not clear when the killings of the teens, who attended Arcadia High School, happened.

The school district said in a statement it will “provide additional counselors and support services this week when students return to school, and for as long as they are needed”.

The tragedy is believed to be the result of a family row.
