Louis van Gaal admits Manchester United fans are right to boo him

David Gill, former Manchester United chief executive and a present director at the club has warned Louis Van Gaal that the club is underachieving having spent s £250m-plus investment in the squad since his arrival. As directors we’re fans, no-one likes to see that.

Valdes on Thursday sent a farewell message to his supporters, posting a message on Twitter above a picture of United’s training ground saying: “Thank you all for your support during these months of hard work for me”.

When asked about the jeering he received at the final whistle, Van Gaal added: “I agree with them, so it doesn’t have any impact (on me)”.

This coupled with the fact that Van Gaal is heading back to Netherlands after the demoralizing loss, ostensibly to be there for his daughters birthday, has lead to speculation that this could be curtains for Van Gaal’s career at Manchester United.

There was no immediate indication from the United hierarchy that Van Gaal would lose his job.

United are in desperate need of a lift to prevent their season disintegrating even further, but van Gaal could give no guarantees that it may come via a move into the January transfer market.

LONDON (AP) – The fans’ booing has become louder at Manchester United as the team’s performances have become duller.

United have taken 37 points from their first 23 games, their lowest total in the Premier League era and three points fewer than under David Moyes during the 2013/14 season.

“I had the fear because they could only score from set plays as they didn’t create other chances and our defence in set plays was weaker because I changed Fellaini and had to change Darmian so every change meant we were weaker in set plays”, he said. “I have seen the match also and I can not deny it but also in better or for worse, you have to stick together”. Saturday was the seventh time they have failed to score at Old Trafford this year.

A report in the Independent on Sunday suggested that the former Chelsea boss had written a six-page letter outlining why he would be the right man to replace Louis van Gaal, as and when he leaves Old Trafford.

Matteo Darmian has told Manchester United fans that he is “fine” following his injury scare against Southampton. The bookmakers say yes by making LVG a 4-6 favourite to be the next Premier League manager to be dismissed.
