Families Displaced In Vermillion Apartment Fire

“We want to ensure our communities are prepared and have the resources they need in the event they do have a fire that they have the proper measures to get out safely”, said Shana Beal, a disaster program specialist for the American Red Cross.
Two house fires just outside the Charleston area displaced three people over the cold weekend.
Sharon Kersten has been volunteering with the American Red Cross for more than 40 years.
One man was killed and a woman was injured in a house fire in Valley City early Sunday morning.
Investigators said the home did have working smoke detectors.
