Alman on the 2016 Royal Rumble

“You know, I’m always going to do what’s best for my family”.

Triple H emerged as the No. 30 entrant in the Rumble Match on Sunday and ended up winning it all to become the WWE World Heavyweight Champion for the 14th time.

If Triple H wants one more title run before his career is up, this would be the time.

It will now be very interesting to see how the storyline progresses as the Road to WrestleMania 32 gets even more interesting.

Reigns will be the first man of 30 to enter the ring.

Reigns did get his revenge on Sheamus, eliminating the Irish star with a Superman punch, but that proved to be a huge gaffe as Triple H took him out on that point.

Triple H was determined to not let that happen though and our main event at WrestleMania on April 3 in Dallas looks certain to be The Game taking on Reigns for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

He moves and hits quick enough to stick and move about in the ring, a vital need in the Rumble when there could be a deluge of superstars in the ring.

Dean Ambrose was a monster on Sunday night. WWE still has its work cut out in making Reigns likable to a fickle audience that loves to hate him.

The 2016 Royal Rumble is in the books but the pro-wrestling world is still buzzing with all that went down during this major event.

Many fans including myself were excited at the sheer fact that Brock Lesnar would be returning to action and at the Royal Rumble no less.

To quote WWE Superstars Edge and Christian, it wreaked… of awesomeness!

Earlier, Ambrose retained his Intercontinental Title, trumping Owens in a Last Man Standing match.

There is no physical presence in the WWE like Brock Lesnar. Lesnar entered the 2016 event at No 23, eliminating four superstars including three of the Wyatt family. It would be surprising if Lesnar and Wyatt don’t face off at WrestleMania 32. Ambrose got the win when Owens toppled through a two-table stack of his own design and was unable to answer the 10-count. Guaranteed that both of them will be sporting some nasty marks and getting around gingerly for a few days.

Some miscommunication between the champs seemed to put The Usos in the driver’s seat, but a blind tag by Big E while Jey focused on finishing Kingston allowed for a sweet spot where a top rope Splash was caught and turned into a Big Ending.

A good match, but not up to the level of their recent ones on television.

Also set for the show is Alberto Del Rio vs. Kalisto in a rematch for the U.S. Championship. Unfortunately for Lynch, this is Charlotte’s time to shine as Diva’s Champion. I could have done without Ric Flair kissing Lynch, though I’m suspecting that Charlotte has caught her father looking at the Divas on occasion and telling him “No”. With his absence, nobody is quite sure if he is actually going to turn up – think John Cena in 2008. She stared at Charlotte, then attacked Becky, sending her out of the ring.
