Sanders has undeniable energy heading into the final week of campaigning in Iowa.

One week from now, Iowa voters will kick off the 2016 presidential contest with its caucuses. Each will campaign in Iowa Monday before the CNN broadcast.

Obama lauded Clinton’s experience, saying it will help her govern if she wins, but he described her campaign as “cautious”. But they also reflect their competing visions of what Democratic voters are seeking in the 2016 election. “And I think he might very well get in the race and I would love to have him get in the race”, Trump said.

The president reflected on his hard-fought, at times bitter campaign against Clinton in 2007 and 2008, but said her service as his secretary of state would flatten the learning curve if she becomes president. “She had to, you know, handle all the expectations that were placed on her. Had things gone a little bit different in some states or if the sequence of primaries and caucuses been a little different, she could have easily won”. Ain’t going to happen.

Democrats, who could be hurt most by a Bloomberg candidacy, didn’t shrug off the prospect.

“They know I mean what I say, and I know how to get results”, Clinton said. While he said he understands some of the appeal Sanders has, he went on to both defend as well as heap effusive praise on his 2008 rival.

She also insisted on her foreign policy bona fides and the “very specific steps” she would take to defeat the Islamic State jihadist group. Cory Booker, who introduced Clinton at an event in Marion Sunday.

While Obama was an underdog in the 2008 race, he did have significant support among state and national officials.

“People have said Bernie’s ideas are unachievable and impossible”, he said.

Sanders plans a campaign rally in Ames Monday. “Sanders did to gain it”, Bamberg said on a conference call. “People want to know that people can deal with these issues and threats”.

The Massachusetts senator’s fiery speech on the senate floor Friday echoed some of Bernie Sanders’ powerful criticisms of Hillary Clinton.

In the debate cycle, O’Malley has taking swings at both Clinton and Sanders, focusing on the former’s ties to Wall Street and the latter’s record on guns. And the Clinton staff has been diligently knocking doors and organizing in cities and small towns.

That’s him, Sanders said. The video got more than 370,000 views in the first three hours.

The Des Moines Register/Bloomberg poll found Mrs. Clinton ahead by nine points among those who said they would “definitely” vote, with Mr. Sanders ahead by 10 among those who said they would “probably” caucus.
