Cam Newton, defense help Carolina rout Arizona in NFC title game
Davis broke his arm in the second quarter of Carolina’s 49-15 win over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday in the NFC championship. The Denver Broncos clinched a spot in the Super Bowl before the Panthers’ game got under way, but Newton had no idea of the AFC Championship game’s final result. Unlike last week the Panthers kept the pedal down for a full 60 minutes and boosted the lead to 34-7 on the strength of two Newton touchdown runs. He is expected to be honored as the MVP for the first time – fans chanted those three letters during the NFC championship postgame ceremony – and he’ll be playing in his first Super Bowl. Carolina is seeking its first Super Bowl title in 21-year franchise history.

– Rob Gronkowski, Patriots, had eight catches for 144 yards and a TD in a losing cause as New England fell to Denver 20-18. “He’s just an fantastic player”, Kubiak said.
Running back Jonathan Stewart helped with that goal, rushing for 83 yards, and tight end Greg Olsen was Newton’s safety valve per usual and then some, with 113 receiving yards.
Panthers quarterback Cam Newton will more than likely become the NFL MVP.
Capping the barrage was Kuechly, who returned an interception 22 yards for a score. Another botched tackle, this one at the Carolina 47 by Rashad Johnson, left Brown with nothing but unprotected turf. “But anyway, we’re going to live in the moment right now”. The Carolina Panthers had completely destroyed the Arizona Cardinals 49-15 and Terry Bradshaw was trying to do a post-game interview with Cam Newton.
“I tried to take me out of it early in the week, but you know as well as anybody else that it meant a lot to me”, Ginn said. He just did as he pleased while completing 19-of-28 for 335 yards and two touchdowns.
Palmer threw four interceptions and was stripped for a pair of fumbles, while All-Pro cornerback Patrick Peterson fumbled a punt return in the first half.
The turnovers were just far too much and it’s nearly impossible for any team to overcome that many in a single game.
Despite downplaying it this past week, Carolina Panthers receiver Ted Ginn Jr. had redemption on his mind when he faced his former team Sunday night.
It didn’t get any better even when Arizona finally moved the ball into Carolina territory, only to see Kawann Short sack Palmer and strip the ball. For many of his Panther teammates, it was tough seeing Davis sitting on the sidelines the second half of the game.
